It may well still be “Summer Time in England” but it sure hasn’t felt like it for the last few weeks.
However, moving smartly on from complaining about the weather, some better news. I have, at last, found someone to join me in Threads Embroidery, initially in a probationary position to enable both of us to evaluate working together but later, all being well, as a partner.
After a career as a furniture maker Dan Warmer started on the 1st of August, is a local man, married with four children. It will take some time for Dan to learn the business but I am confident that he will do so very quickly. With Dan on board I hope to shorten our lead times and maintain better communication with our customers.
Also, in these very difficult times financially for most of us, I am pleased to be able to apply our Dojo Discount of 25% on all orders placed in August, and not just to trade customers. So, if it is time for a new belt then get your order in before the 1st of September .
If you are new to Threads Embroidery you may be interested in our background and current circumstances.
Threads Embroidery was started in 1989 by Julie and Harry Shaw as a small business, supplying embroidered martial arts belts to the local martial arts clubs attended by their children. Over the years the business expanded into other markets but always specialising in catering to the martial arts community.
I have become well aware of the years of hard work, dedicated training, self-discipline, and occasional pain, that the award of a black belt signifies.
In 2020 Threads Embroidery passed into the ownership of me, Barrie North, although Harry Shaw remains very much involved in a consultancy role. Also in October 2020 Bone Dry Dog Coats and Threads Embroidery transferred to an industrial Unit in Whitchurch, Shropshire, located in one of the old coach houses of an 18th century building in the town, now Whitchurch Heritage Centre. Later, in September 2021, domestic circumstances demanded that we move to a house with no stairs and we now live in Burleydam in Cheshire. By a rare stroke of good fortune the bungalow possesses a large garage, sufficient to accommodate my two small businesses, Threads Embroidery and Bone Dry Dog Coats.
An honorary black belt presented to HRH The Princess Royal on the occiasion of the opening of the British Judo Association Centre of Excellence
This belt belongs to an old customer of Threads Embroidery dating back several decades, and who continues to favour us with his custom.
